Clinical Hypnotherapy falls under the category of complementary therapy, which is far different from the stage hypnotism you may have seen on the television and on the internet.
All throughout time people have used the power of their mind to overcome so many obstacles, everything from pain to problem-solving! You can even see this painted on cave walls from thousands of years ago, we managed to overcome many things before the invention of chemical anaesthesia at the turn of the 20th century! Surgeons such as James Esdaile used Hypnosis as the only form of pain relief as he did countless successful amputations and other major surgeries. By using hypnosis Dr Esdaile significantly reduced shock and dramatically increased his patients’ survival rates. That surely tells you something about the power of your mind!

Hypnotherapy can be used for so many things! A hypnotherapist can use many different techniques to cure just about any unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviours that you no longer feel benefit you.
Can I be hypnotised without my consent?
The simplest answer is no you cannot. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, therefore, if you don’t feel comfortable to relax then you will not go into a hypnotic state!
Will I be in control?
Yes, at all times. it is a common misconception that once in hypnosis you are completely at the will of the hypnotherapist. The truth is; that you are in control the whole time. In fact, you will in more of a state of awareness; and more focused!
What happens if I can’t come out of hypnosis?
This is physically an impossible thing! This is because you are not in an unconscious state. You will be in a very deep state of relaxation and can come out of this at any time you want to.
Can I hypnotise myself?
Yes, you can! In fact, technically all hypnosis is self- hypnosis!
Can I cure multiple unwanted thoughts feeling and behaviours with hypnosis?
Hypnosis can’t get rid of all your unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours at once. However, by sorting one thing at a time over the course of your treatment you will see all the changes you wanted to make happen!
Will I need to see a hypnotherapist for more than one session?
It will all depend on the type of unwanted behaviours you have. You may require more than one session. You are not tied down to a fixed number of sessions, you are in control and know how you are progressing. Chanel will discuss your progress with you in a session by session basis depending on the quickness of your progress. How determined are you to make a change?
